"You are one of the most capable and qualified candidates and Louisiana and America needs Tony Gentile in Washington protecting our Constitution."

Kristofer Cowles
Voters with Change
"Tony is one of the most honorable political opponents I have ever faced. He is a man of the utmost integrity, and is more concerned about getting his message out to the voters and serving the people than playing partisan politics.  I am proud to have him run for the Senate as a Libertarian."

Mr. T. Lee Horne, III LPL Chairman
"I think Gentile is the only rational person in the senate race. He is the only one who has reacted with logic and reason to The Spill. He is the only candidate who has positions grounded in fact, logic, reality and rationality on government size, taxes, border security and immigration as well as a host of other issues and problems facing Louisiana and the country as a whole."

Mr. Boyd W. Smith

The Libertarian Primary is August 28th, I would like to invite all Libertarians and Independents to take part in our priamry.  I would encourage you to vote for the endorsed Libertarian candidate for US Senate!

Thomas Jefferson said, "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock." The time has come to end decorum; time to end the status quo.  YOU and the country need "in your face" governance that stands like a rock.

Lawmaking solely in the interest of the country and it's people is paramount.  All to often we see politicians voting the party line, voting blindly with their party and their OWN SELF INTEREST.  Tell them, by voting for me and the Libertarian enlightenment movement, that we are tired of this and that your interests and that of the country and its people come FIRST.

I represent the party of thoughtful individuals, individuals in the collective; individuals who are dissatisfied with oversimplifying American politics and political issues, and sick of Democrats AND Republicans telling us what's right for our lives.

I make a guarantee that nobody else will; I guarantee that if I am not doing what is right for Louisiana and its citizen as judged by God, my constituents, and my morals, I will resign.  Simply put, I will be unwavering in the pressures of Washington and will stand like a rock against the traditions of parties and their games.

I say, game over; time for LIBERTY, and time to vote for REAL change.

The Issues

Where do I stand on the issues?  (a brief synopsis)

Insurance/Financial Bailouts - Let the free market work.  Investments are commonly known to have a risk.
Its unfortunate people lost their hard earned money however the market will steady itself without
governmental intrusion.  I understand that people 50 years plus lost in excess of 5 billion this year.  That's a
kick in the teeth and I believe a full Senate hearing is justified.  One more thing about this, we printed up
a trillion dollars basically bankrupting our country to give money to businesses to prevent them from
bankrupting.  Am I missing something here?

Socialized medicine – We’ve got to be smarter than this, it fails everywhere it has been implemented.  I for
one do not want government trying to manage my health.  Scrap the idea and don't waste the time.
HR3400 is a viable option, this will difinitely drive down premiums and make insurance available for many
more Americans.

Military - There is no greater deterrent to war than a strong military.  We must maintain our stature in the world
as the strongest nation with no misunderstanding that we bow to no one.  We should bring all our troops
home from all foreign military entanglements. Our military should be all here. If we are attacked, the
retribution should be swift, deadly and so out of proportion that no one would even think about attacking us
ever again.

Taxes - The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.
The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax  administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

The FairTax:
  • Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
  • Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
  • Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
  • Allows American products to compete fairly
  • Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
  • Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
  • Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
  • Abolishes the IRS

Government - Reduce the size immediately.  Cut spending.  Limit power within the boundaries of the
Constitution.  Cut spending again.

Energy - Stop subsidizing ethanol!  Drilling here at home to lesson our dependence on foreign oil.
Let's quit making those who hate us rich!  Let's work with energy companies to develop new technologies
bearing in mind our economy here in Louisiana depends heavily on petroleum.  We have to protect our
jobs.

Border Security -  One has to ask why is this even an issue?  This is a must; we're at war.  What kind of
government allows their country's borders to be left wide open?  Seal them now.

Second Amendment- I fully support the second amendment and will fight to keep it in it's current form.
H.R. 17:  The Citizens' Self-Defense Act of 2009 needs passed immediately.  If this is still an issue
in 2010 I will support this and fight for it's inception.

Repeal Cap and Trade- June 26, 2009 I watched Congress take the United States another step towards
socialism.  Now more than ever we need to change out Congress and the Senate.  This mandate will
break the backs of Americans while the rest of the world stands by and laughs.  We can't afford to wait
and see, when elected I will work to repeal or minimize this Bill.  Louisiana is an energy state, we have the
power.
Restrict all taxpayer-funded benefits including government education to citizens. This will eliminate
major incentives to come to the U.S. illegally.
