"You are one of the most capable and qualified candidates and Louisiana and America needs Tony Gentile in Washington protecting our Constitution."

Kristofer Cowles
Voters with Change
"Tony is one of the most honorable political opponents I have ever faced. He is a man of the utmost integrity, and is more concerned about getting his message out to the voters and serving the people than playing partisan politics.  I am proud to have him run for the Senate as a Libertarian."

Mr. T. Lee Horne, III LPL Chairman
"I think Gentile is the only rational person in the senate race. He is the only one who has reacted with logic and reason to The Spill. He is the only candidate who has positions grounded in fact, logic, reality and rationality on government size, taxes, border security and immigration as well as a host of other issues and problems facing Louisiana and the country as a whole."

Mr. Boyd W. Smith

The Libertarian Primary is August 28th, I would like to invite all Libertarians and Independents to take part in our priamry.  I would encourage you to vote for the endorsed Libertarian candidate for US Senate!

Thomas Jefferson said, "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock." The time has come to end decorum; time to end the status quo.  YOU and the country need "in your face" governance that stands like a rock.

Lawmaking solely in the interest of the country and it's people is paramount.  All to often we see politicians voting the party line, voting blindly with their party and their OWN SELF INTEREST.  Tell them, by voting for me and the Libertarian enlightenment movement, that we are tired of this and that your interests and that of the country and its people come FIRST.

I represent the party of thoughtful individuals, individuals in the collective; individuals who are dissatisfied with oversimplifying American politics and political issues, and sick of Democrats AND Republicans telling us what's right for our lives.

I make a guarantee that nobody else will; I guarantee that if I am not doing what is right for Louisiana and its citizen as judged by God, my constituents, and my morals, I will resign.  Simply put, I will be unwavering in the pressures of Washington and will stand like a rock against the traditions of parties and their games.

I say, game over; time for LIBERTY, and time to vote for REAL change.

I sure hope everybody had a great Easter weekend!  The weather was beautiful to say the least!

It looks like the incumbent Senator has another opponent.  I am not one to judge but I can sense what your response might be from what other people are telling me about this supposed upcoming announcement!

On a local issue which I have yet to hear the others talk about is what is going on in Louisiana. SB 432 is being debated heavily this legislative session.  What this Bill will do is place a hydrocarbon processing tax on foreign crude refined in Louisiana.  It means 5 billion dollars to the state coffers.  It also means you and I will pay $1.25 more a gallon for gasoline.  If and I mean if we could sell our products out of state they would be UN marketable.  However I believe before that would happen the Federal Commerce Claus would prohibit that tax from crossing state lines. That's why we would bare the full burden.  Call your State Rep and State Senator and tell them this Bill is bad for Louisiana.

I get a lot of email everyday below is a copy of one of them.  I cleaned it up a little, some of the adjectives and adverbs were a little dicey.

1.  They voted to not give you a Social Security cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.
2.  Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and you willnot get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 each or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
3.  Over 2-yrs The House & Senate each get $10,000 raises
4.  Do you feel like you got the short end of the stick?
5.  WILL your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc.,increase?  You better believe they will! WILL THEIRS?   NO WAY .. They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past.
6. Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you?  How many do you really think care about you?  I think even if half did we would not’t have a nine trillion dollar debt.  Almost double digit unemployment.  SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED.

IN 2010 YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE SITTING CONGRESS, THAT IS 1/3 OF THE SENATE AND 100% OF THE HOUSE. MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND TELL THEIR REPLACEMENTS YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. It is okay to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse.

Maybe it's time for the........
28th Amendment
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." Let's get this passed around, folks - these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves!!!  It's time for retribution.  Let's take back America!

I agree and I hope in November you'll push that button by my name.  I'll be the Louisiana US Senator that listens to you.  In my eyes Louisiana is not for sale.

About a week and half ago I sent out the following press release;

Anthony "Tony" Gentile, Libertarian candidate for the position of Louisiana US Senator, challenges the incumbent and other candidates to a debate.

Here is the formal statement from candidate Tony Gentile:

"I publicly challenge the incumbent Louisiana United States Senator and all candidates for his seat to begin debating the issues of the day

starting with a debate in April. The current state of our country demands that all candidates come together to field questions and present their

respective stances to the citizens of Louisiana. The election process of the United States is the envy of the world, every citizen of age has a

vote, and the need to be informed.

Once I get a written confirmation of their commitments to debate next month, we will collectively agree on a date and location. I would hope

that all feel the sense of urgency and participate. Open debates are one of the many good qualities of a free democratic society.

I will send personal emails to all notifying them of my challenge. I have met many Louisianans and I hear their concerns. It would be great

disappointment to the citizens for any of the five hopefuls not to attend."

I heard from the lesser known candidates who are ready like I to share our views and platforms.  I have twice emailed both of the more publicized

Republican and Democratic candidates as well as called their offices twice.  I think it would be fair to give them another week to respond.  I

will call mid week this is too important to let this opportunity slip by.

The Healthcare Bill passed; it was a sad day taking that first step towards socialism.  I will work tirelessly to have this Bill repealed.  I

refuse to stand by and watch this great country fall at the hands of a few radical liberals.  As the infamous Yogi Berra would say, “The game aint

over until the fat lady sings”.  I don’t hear anybody singing yet.

As your US Senator I promise I will be listening to you.

I hope everybody had a great week!  The weekend weather was fitting for our begrudged first step into socialism.  I think we all can agree that
reform was needed.

We went too far to the left which is just as bad as going to far to the right.  The everyday folks like you and I, we get crushed either way.   My
word to the Liberals who are anti-corporatism guess what; you just helped every corporation and big business in America.  They no longer will have to offer hospitalization as a benefit.  They will pocket that money if they so choose to.  There’s nothing like shooting yourself in the foot.  I
for one believe it’s easier to pull up 10% of anything than to drag down the other 90%.

November we have our chance as citizens to fight back.   We only have one way to win.  Fighting from the outside a fist or gun will land you in
jail with a sure fire prison sentence.  We have to fight from the inside beat them at their own game.

There’s an old story in Louisiana about Republicans and Democrats told by
Huey Long.

Huey Long used to tell a story about a traveling salesman who was peddling two "cure-all" tonics. One was called High-Popalorum and the other was Low-Popahirum.

One day while the salesman was out in the country someone from the crowd asked what the difference was between the two tonics.  Long, while telling the story, would put on a puzzled face and stammer a bit, "why, why there's, there's considerable difference, you see." Long would pause briefly and then continue the salesman's role, "High-Popalorum, is made from the bark of the tree skinned from the top down. Low-Popahirum is made from the bark of the tree skinned from the bottom up..." And he would pause again briefly to conclude with. “...the only difference I ever found between the Democratic leadership and the Republican leadership is that one of them is skinning you from the ankle up and the other, from the neck down.”

I tell that story because I do not believe either side is innocent.  They both continually make laws outside of the Constitution.  We have a nine
trillion dollar deficit that just didn’t happen over the last year.  It grew but we were already in the red.  I believe the problem doesn’t lie
on the income side of the ledger it resides on the expense side.  Growing government is the wrong direction to be headed in.  I will fight to keep
us inside the framework of the Constitution and to reduce spending. Sometimes to win at something you have to fight for it, I don’t mind a
good fight.  Even if I lose the next time they’ll have something a little more palatable or we’ll fight again.  Sooner than later I will win.

As a US Senator I will work for you, be accountable to you, and I will listen to you.  Your voice will be heard.
