"You are one of the most capable and qualified candidates and Louisiana and America needs Tony Gentile in Washington protecting our Constitution."

Kristofer Cowles
Voters with Change
"Tony is one of the most honorable political opponents I have ever faced. He is a man of the utmost integrity, and is more concerned about getting his message out to the voters and serving the people than playing partisan politics.  I am proud to have him run for the Senate as a Libertarian."

Mr. T. Lee Horne, III LPL Chairman
"I think Gentile is the only rational person in the senate race. He is the only one who has reacted with logic and reason to The Spill. He is the only candidate who has positions grounded in fact, logic, reality and rationality on government size, taxes, border security and immigration as well as a host of other issues and problems facing Louisiana and the country as a whole."

Mr. Boyd W. Smith

The Libertarian Primary is August 28th, I would like to invite all Libertarians and Independents to take part in our priamry.  I would encourage you to vote for the endorsed Libertarian candidate for US Senate!

Thomas Jefferson said, "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock." The time has come to end decorum; time to end the status quo.  YOU and the country need "in your face" governance that stands like a rock.

Lawmaking solely in the interest of the country and it's people is paramount.  All to often we see politicians voting the party line, voting blindly with their party and their OWN SELF INTEREST.  Tell them, by voting for me and the Libertarian enlightenment movement, that we are tired of this and that your interests and that of the country and its people come FIRST.

I represent the party of thoughtful individuals, individuals in the collective; individuals who are dissatisfied with oversimplifying American politics and political issues, and sick of Democrats AND Republicans telling us what's right for our lives.

I make a guarantee that nobody else will; I guarantee that if I am not doing what is right for Louisiana and its citizen as judged by God, my constituents, and my morals, I will resign.  Simply put, I will be unwavering in the pressures of Washington and will stand like a rock against the traditions of parties and their games.

I say, game over; time for LIBERTY, and time to vote for REAL change.

Lafayette Political Buzz Examiner - Part Three

Final interview with Mr. Anthony Gentile running for Louisiana State Senate three of three

January 18, 10:40 PMLafayette Political Buzz ExaminerKen LaRive

LaRive: The war in Afghanistan, what should be done?

Gentile:
There is no greater deterrent to war than a strong military. We must maintain our stature in the world by being the strongest nation, and with no misunderstanding that we will bow to no one. We should bring all of our troops home from all foreign military entanglements. Our military should be inside of our own borders, and securing them. If we are attacked, the retribution should be swift and deadly. We should make sure that the threat is thoroughly extinguished.
War isn’t pleasant, and when you fight somebody that has no rules of engagement, all bets are off.
We should value the life of the innocent without compromising our men and women in the battle field, as the thought of defeat is not an option. When you engage an enemy, there must be a declaration of war, and you must win.

LaRive: Healthcare, what should we do?

Gentile: There’s no doubt problems with healthcare in the United States. Louisiana, however, has the Charity Health System that is far ahead of most other States. This does not come cheap to the citizens of Louisiana and estimated to cost about 2 billion a year.
Government run or Socialized medicine does not work, and both historians and economists agree. It’s been proven time and time again. The Democratic Healthcare plan will leave us open to more government control . The more government control, the less liberty.
What should we do? Cut waste, and eliminate fraud. That is what we should expect our government to do, and only this: police the laws that we now have in affect. Take care of those two items first, and then we will see what we have available to spend.
Increasing taxes and growing government is not an option for a strong and viable America. I am in favor of HR 3400, the Republican plan which opens up competition across state lines. Do we need to cap some services? Perhaps, but where would it ever end? If government gets even a toe in this door, it will never close. One option I consider is SCHIP. It can be used by families that do not have health insurance for their children.
Medicaid and Medicare needs protection by oversight, not government control. The system should not underpay or overpaying for services, and should be monitored for corruption. Problems we now face can be solved by management and accountability, with no further borrowing.

LaRive: Cap and Trade, where do you stand on this?

Gentile: U.S. Manufacturing, over the last decade, has made great strides in the reduction of carbon emissions. In fact, carbon emissions have peaked and are actually falling here in the United States. Our industries meet, or are under, the EPA and State’s limit on a consistent basis.
Our foreign counterparts in China and India are expected to increase carbon emissions for the next forty years. I am all for both clean air and affordable energy as well. Cap and Trade jeopardizes our country, our families, and our futures. It would be the death of us as a nation.
Do we need cleaner burning fuels? Sure we do and we can accomplish that without crippling an industry, our oil-based infrastructure, and what’s left of our ailing economy. We can make all of the green products in the world, but we don't have to be knocked back into the stone age to do it. Both industries should work together for a common cause, what is good for America.
LaRive: Why should somebody vote for you?

Gentile: That’s a fair question. I’m an a true idealist and see a Senator as the mouthpiece for his constituents.
I believe in the US Constitution and that we need to stay within its boundaries. I will be and remain accountable for my actions.
Every November we'll look at the feedback we receive and my voting record along with results. If I have failed to act in a positive manner, disregarding the wishes of the citizens of Louisiana without being able to reconcile my position, I will resign. No doubt, my opponents would be In the private sector right now if they had made that offer.
What we have now is failing. Our Founding Fathers gave us the guiding framework for a form of government controlled the people. They knew full well the oppression on a Monarchy, and the trappings of Church and State. The controlling parties over the last one-hundred years have brought us back to the brink of this oppression, and our entanglements overseas has stretched us to the very limit.
When the majority of citizens depend on government for their basic needs, it will be hard if not impossible to alter the course, as they will continually weigh us down. Pride in a job well done comes from the private sector, and government should get out of the way of our capitalistic system. Louisiana needs a representative that will work tirelessly for the good of our American way of life, and without fail, pick up the standards that has made this country great.

LaRive: Thank you for your time Mr. Gentile.
