The Libertarian Primary is August 28th, I would like to invite all Libertarians and Independents to take part in our priamry. I would encourage you to vote for the endorsed Libertarian candidate for US Senate!
Thomas Jefferson said, "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock." The time has come to end decorum; time to end the status quo. YOU and the country need "in your face" governance that stands like a rock.
Lawmaking solely in the interest of the country and it's people is paramount. All to often we see politicians voting the party line, voting blindly with their party and their OWN SELF INTEREST. Tell them, by voting for me and the Libertarian enlightenment movement, that we are tired of this and that your interests and that of the country and its people come FIRST.
I represent the party of thoughtful individuals, individuals in the collective; individuals who are dissatisfied with oversimplifying American politics and political issues, and sick of Democrats AND Republicans telling us what's right for our lives.
I make a guarantee that nobody else will; I guarantee that if I am not doing what is right for Louisiana and its citizen as judged by God, my constituents, and my morals, I will resign. Simply put, I will be unwavering in the pressures of Washington and will stand like a rock against the traditions of parties and their games.
I say, game over; time for LIBERTY, and time to vote for REAL change.
Lafayette Political Buzz Examiner - Part Two
Part two: Questions with Anthony Gentile, Libertarian Candidate for US Senate
January 16, 11:00 PMLafayette Political Buzz ExaminerKen LaRive
LaRive: Libertarians are known to be conservatives, but how do they differ from Republicans?
Gentile: We seemingly both want smaller government, more personal freedoms, and less taxes, however, Republicans have mostly lost and betrayed these standards. Both say they want to be able to keep the money we earn, but they vote to Nationalize and Socialize. Both sides seem to be at odds, but in the past their voting record say otherwise.
I am in favor of the Fair Tax Plan; the one Ron Paul has been advocating for quite some time.
As a Libertarian I believe it is imperative that every citizen be able to hear about this plan and digest it, so it should be published and discussed. Unfortunately, our now Nationalized media marginalizes this and many other ideas that are for the good of America.
Also, people should have a Constitutional right to voice their opinion, the will for optimum liberty, and a free press should be demanded. But nothing is for free; we must all get involved, and demanding both sides of an issue is the only way to make a logical decision.
LaRive: Who would you say Libertarians represent?
Gentile: Everyone in America Ken. Libertarians are the best chance we have to take back America. Top heavy government is the problem. This country should be run from the people up, not from the government down.
You see, Libertarians are a diverse group, but basically just everyday hard working responsible people who want what is good for America. Some say we’re the poor man’s Republican Party, but I don't see this as a true description. We are rich in American tradition. We study and learn what made America great, what our framers and founders warned and taught us...
LaRive: So what is the Federal Government doing to revitalize the economy?
Gentile: Little or nothing. You can’t keep printing unsecured and unaccountable money around and expect things to get better. Any businessman can tell you that! At best you’ll see a slight increase until the monster-bubble of inflation comes around, but it is a false indicator. It isn't too late, but rest assured, if we do not stop when this bubble of inflation hits us we will be crushed. We will be finished as a nation. It has happened around the world, and it can happen here.
LaRive: So what can be done at this point to bring us out of this recession, and to put folks back to work?
Gentile: What would I do? Cut taxes! Then immediately, start reducing the size of government, and go back to the Fair Tax Plan! Economist will tell you there is no quicker way to spur an economy. Historians too, because it works. Politicians won’t, and I have a very big problem with that. They work for me and you and we should demand positive performance. Selling out America can come in many forms, one is to do what is good for the party at the expense of a weaker America, like the destruction of our oil-based infrastructure so the liberal green-machine can take over. This has to stop.
Redistribution of wealth can come in many forms, and well hidden.
LaRive: What is an example of Fair Trade?
Gentile: Briefly, fair trade? Let’s be fair. If I take a billion dollars of your goods you’re going to take a billion dollars of my goods, or a fair exchange. That simple. If we can’t have a level playing field we do not need to do business together. Want to stay a viable country, that is the only way.
No one admits it, but America is bankrupt. Only with a healthy middle class, the backbone of our nation, can we pull out of this. Grow a sturdy and viable middle class consumer, and you will again have a strong America. A weak middle class is more easily controlled, and change can be implemented quickly and unnoticed, and I will talk about that later. We need leaders.
LaRive: On Illegal Immigration, Mr. Gentile, how should we handle this?
Gentile: We all know we are at war with a ruthless and well-hidden enemy. Our borders should be closed and locked down. The key word here is “illegal.”
The issue is not a simple one. These people have broken our law, but we must also realize that a law is only as good as its enforcement, so we are to blame too.
We incarcerate Americans for traveling undocumented, and yet we let millions upon millions have free range. They take American jobs, weakening our infrastructure and pay no taxes. This should have been addressed decades ago. Try going to Mexico undocumented, Ken. They see the danger, why can't we?
We only have three viable choices. One, turn yourself in, pay a fine for breaking our law and become a citizen by paying into the system. Two, allow them passage back to the border without fine and not let them back without ID, three, if they refuse to leave or pay the fine, deport them with a ban to ever return, or incarcerate them with all of our other criminals. Also, all those who harbor an illegal should also be held accountable, by fine or imprisonment. That is the true source. Without a company or individual supplying, an illegal would have no place to go. The source of the problem is the lack of true leadership. I would work on that on day one. It is that important.
This might seem harsh, but our security and sovereignty is at stake. We should know who is walking our streets, and the reason. I also will work to stop illegal's from having children in America for the purpose of citizenship, none should have free healthcare but under the most dire of circumstances, and no illegal should ever be considered for Social Security.
Look at the way Mexico views the rights of criminals, they have little or none. If you are caught breaking the law in Mexico, you will sleep on the floor and eat bread and water for your entire stay. If you have no one to bring you supplies, like food or toothpaste, you will go without. There is no AC, no big-screen TV, no civil rights to speak of...
Some Mexicans would make fine US citizens, but they should be hand-picked. Not only should we have a due process that is accountable, but those selected should be able to incorporate and become valuable and viable citizens.
