"Tony is one of the most honorable political opponents I have ever faced. He is a man of the utmost integrity, and is more concerned about getting his message out to the voters and serving the people than playing partisan politics.  I am proud to have him run for the Senate as a Libertarian."

"I think Gentile is the only rational person in the senate race. He is the only one who has reacted with logic and reason to The Spill. He is the only candidate who has positions grounded in fact, logic, reality and rationality on government size, taxes, border security and immigration as well as a host of other issues and problems facing Louisiana and the country as a whole."

Mr. Boyd W. Smith

There is a quote from Thomas Jefferson that describes the current Senator and how I will be, “ In matters of style swim with the current, in matters of principle stand like a rock”.  It’s time to throw decorum out the window, in your face governance is what’s needed.  Voting the party line has to stop, making laws that are in the interest of this country and it’s people should be paramount.  I make this guarantee to you, every November if I am not doing what's right for the citizens, our country, and Louisiana you can fire me, I 'll resign.  Will anyone else in politics give you that guarantee?

I say game over.  Let’s clear the board. Prepare yourself for real change!

Gentile comments on upcoming primary

After carrying the Libertarian banner for the last year campaigning as the Libertarian

candidate for US Senate I have been unexpectedly forced into a primary. Although

this alters my plans every American has the right to run for office and I respect my

opponent’s desire to represent the Libertarian Party in November.

Below is a link from the Secretary of States office to wear you can either register to

vote or change your party affiliation. I hope you can take the time to switch to either

Libertarian or Independent for this primary and drop a vote for me. Afterwards you

can switch back if you choose to the party you desire or stay where you’re at. This

change has to take place 30 days prior to the election. July 28th is the deadline.

I have been pounding the pavement going door to door, burning up the phone lines

talking to people, driving across the state, and doing whatever I can to be to get my name

and message out there. I need your vote to get over this first hurdle. This is the part I

cannot do alone.

As we gear up for the sprint to the finish we could use your help! I need some volunteers for the following positions; 1 . Block Captains - Hand out flyers in your neighborhood. Sign locating. Where can we put one! Remind neighbors to vote and Vote Gentile for US Senator! 2 . Fundraisers- Money is the catalyst of any campaign; we need some funds to compete on a higher level. We are a grassroots campaign but we need to reach as many people as we can. 3 . Researchers- I need folks to help me keep abreast of what is going in DC and my opponents. Not so much the dirt but the voting records and the inequities of what they say versus what they do. I can only read so much! 4 . Event Organizers- If you can organize an event, even if it’s just a few neighbors and family I will gladly come meet an speak to them. We’ll look at our schedules to see when they mesh and get something scheduled. Together we can help take back our country. Put God back in schools. You know it’s ironic they took God out of our schools but you can readily find him in prison! Perhaps if God was put back in our schools there wouldn’t be so many people in prison looking for him. We have a little less than four months. We can continue down the same path or alter our course. Contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. As we gear up for the big holiday weekend I want to wish everyone a Happy
Fourth of July in advance! In the morning on the 4th I will be in
Alexandria attending a freedom march and speaking about the Constitution
to youths in the crowd. I see this as a good opportunity to get my name
out there as well as inspiring young kids to learn the value of the
Constitution and why it is so important. If you’re in the area please come
on out it will start around 10 am at 3rd and Main St. downtown.

Next week is qualifying week in Baton Rouge, the 6th to the 9th. I have to
admit the Secretary of State’s office does a great job in managing this
effort. We will see who’s who by next Thursday. Then it’s off to the
races.

One thing I try to refrain from is making endless campaign promises I know
I’ll never be able to keep. I will make this one and fight to my last
breath to keep it, I will fight to ensure that every fisherman, dock hand,
distributor, restaurant owner, waitress, and anybody else impacted
financially by the BP disaster is made whole. This money will come from BP
and not the Federal Government. We value our fishing industry just as much
as any other coastal state values theirs. I will not let you down.

The Administration is trying to use the BP incident as a reason to thrust
into “Green” Energy. Personally I find this offensive. This not only
threatens the jobs of thousands of families in Louisiana but it is clear
attack on our intelligence as a nation. Ten weeks ago the call was made to
open up drilling in the Gulf to lesson our dependence on foreign oil. Not
one of the “Green” advocates raised an eyebrow or said anything public. A
week later we have the worst disaster in the industry’s history. One
unfortunate event means the industry is dangerous? It means the statement
said ten weeks ago is no longer valid? The response from the Federal
Government has been slow at best. All efforts should be on stopping the
leak, containing the spill, and cleaning it up. Anything else can come
afterwards. Keep the oil flowing, our country needs the oil, we need the
jobs, and we do not need any drilling moratoriums!

Ask me if I am for Cap and Trade and I'll tell you, "Not just no but Hell
NO!"

I just got back into town this week from my son’s wedding in White Sulphur
Springs, WV.  John Denver was right “Almost heaven West Virginia”!  The
weather was off and on rainy but the wedding went on without a hitch.  My
son and new daughter are enjoying their honeymoon and look forward to
starting a new life together as man and wife.  It’s an awesome feeling
watching your children get married!

Prior to leaving and upon my return I have taken my message to the street
going door to door.  The reception has been incredible!  I have met so
many people that are fed up with the current state of affairs.  I am
feeling very encouraged and look forward to meeting more people of our
great state.

In a couple of weeks candidates will qualify for various positions in our
State.  We will know who is in the running and who the challengers will
be.  As it stands now there are six potential candidates for US Senator in
Louisiana.  The press might lead you to believe there are only two but I
promise you I will be there.

Signs have been ordered and should arrive this weekend.  I hope many if
not all of you have a spot on your lawn for one.  I will keep you updated.

One thing that hit my radar screen this week was a Bill submitted by Joe
Lieberman which effectively gives the President a kill switch on the
internet.  I was outraged by this and if this remains to be an issue I
will aggressively work against this when elected.

Thank you for all of the emails and questions.  I enjoy the opportunity to
expand on my stances and give you a better idea of who I am.

Please remember to include in your prayers the folks on the Gulf Coast who
have been out of work and are not receiving sufficient income.  The power
of prayer will help us through this tragedy.

More Good News from the Hill! (Not Really)

Starting in 2011 (next year folks) your W 2 tax form sent by your employer
Will be increased to show value of what ever health insurance you are
given by company. It does not matter if that's a private concern or
Governmental body of some sort. If you're retired? So what; your gross
will go up by amount of insurance you get.

The dollar value (cost of what company pays for your insurance) will be
considered income and added to your gross pay. You will be taxed on the
total.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money you have never
seen.  Take your tax form you just finished and see what $15,000 or
$20,000 additional gross does to your tax debt. That's what you'll pay
next year.

For many it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it's even worse.
This is how the government is going to buy insurance for 15 % that don't
have insurance and it's only part of tax increases.

Not believing this I researched the summaries and here's what I read: On
page 25 of 29 :
TITLE IX REVENUE PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A: REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec .
9001 , as modified by sec. 10901)

Sec.9002.  "requires employers to include in W-2 form of each employee the
aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group health coverage that
is excludable from employees gross income."

Isn’t time we get people fighting for you the citizens?  Folks there are
no people or businesses lining my pockets with donations.  When elected I
owe my allegiance to you the citizens.

I am stepping off of the campaign trail for a few days my son is getting
married!  When I get back we will start to turn on the heat.  This
election is too important vote for the lesser of two evils.  We need a
clean break from the mold that has driven us to this point in our
country’s history.

I will be the Leader that listens to you.

Anthony Gentile Libertarian Candidate for US Senate Louisiana

May 27, 2010

Oil is lapping up on our coastline.  What is going on here?  Our leaders
quarrel with one another blaming everyone else, BP seemingly working so
slow, and the Federal Government well they’re putting together more
departments and gearing up for more investigations.

Good leaders lead.  If you have a good idea and the resources you must act
on it.  Don’t throw out your idea and blame someone else because they
haven’t jumped on it.  You do it.  A good leader that is successful knows
that cornering people isn’t efficient, getting people into your corner is.
Our leaders haven’t figured this out yet.  Kind of like I mentioned
before about voting the party line, anybody can do that you don’t even
have to think.

We need leaders that can think and act at the same time.  That’s what I
bring to the table.  I have been in jobs where sound high impact decisions
have to be made at a moments notice.  Standing back and taking an extra
look or waiting for somebody else to make a decision is too late.  I
believe you deserve no less as a taxpayer.

Sometimes you have to put on the work boots and gloves and go get dirty,
you have to work.  Shouting orders in a catastrophe only clouds the
situation.  Sometimes it is necessary to lead by example.  This was one
and still is one of those times.  I’m glad to see some of the local
leaders have had enough and actually commandeered some of BP’s boats.

This catastrophe should not turn into a political war of ineptness.  If
you want somebody that doesn’t mind taking the lead, doesn’t mind getting
dirt on his clothes, and doesn’t mind a good fight I am the guy for you’re
next US Senator.

The future of our country is going to take leadership and strong will from
those making the decisions.  I do not want to go to DC to be a patsy or
friends with everybody.  I can work with people positively, I don’t like
BS and I don’t like red tape. Sometimes decisions have to be made fast and
acted upon.

I will work diligently for our country, our state, and you my neighbors.

Anthony Gentle Libertarian Candidate for US Senator Louisiana

Official statement of Anthony Gentile Libertarian Candidate for US Senator on the oil spill in the gulf;

I stand by and continue to support all efforts of deepwater drilling to
secure more sources of energy for our country. Louisiana is an energy
state and I will not turn my back on the industry which employs thousands
of Louisianans offering those well paid jobs and benefits.

I would expect that all oil producers in the Gulf adhere to their safety
procedures as well as their preventative maintenance programs to protect
our environment as well keeping their employees safe.   Furthermore
99% of the Federal Land prohibits drilling.  This is why deep water
drilling is so prominent yet riskier than land based or coastal drilling.
Ultimately the Federal Government’s regulations encouraged these risks.
These risks must be minimized, one way is to allow more drilling in
shallower waters.

I believe we need an independent investigation conducted aside from the
one on going in Washington. We need people that understand the industry
and its procedure looking into the tragedy. Not politicians.

My two opponents are trying to grab as many photo ops as they can. This
isn’t an opportunity this is a disaster which included the loss of human
life and now threatens two of Louisiana’s major industries.

We need people to stand ready to fight for Louisiana’s industries when
needed. We don’t turn our backs on the airline industry when a plane
crashes, we don’t turn our backs on the train industry when one derails,
and we don’t turn our backs on a government that keeps making poor
decisions. We work through the issues as a nation.

The appropriate responsible parties will be held accountable. The cause
will be identified and corrected, that we can count on. As your US Senator
you will be able to count on me to back Louisiana and the wishes of its
citizens.

Those names are just a sampling of people that wanted freedom so badly they paid the ultimate price.  These were revolutionary war soldiers, Americans.  The road to the Constitution of the United States was paved by their blood and others.  Most of these people were everyday people just like you and I.  They understood freedom comes with a price.  They paid that price for us as well as others in wars that came after our independence.  Today our warriors fight to keep us safe so that when we lay our heads down at night we have the security to sleep. Some of our elected leaders try to tell us the Constitution is old, outdated, and needs to be a living document.  One thing they may or may not understand is that the original ten amendments were made from people that lived in oppression.  People that had first hand experience. They took their knowledge and experience to draft a form of government that would be for the people and of the people.  Somewhere along the way the system got turned around.  Some say it is broken.  It’s not broken; the people driving it are broken.  The system now is of the people and for the government, lobbyists, and big campaign donators.  It can be fixed very simply.  We do not have to raise a hand or shout one word in disgust. Vote them out in November.  Clean house.  Our country is bankrupted, nine
trillion dollar debt.  It’s time for these people to take a hike. Ask your US Senator about Usury Laws and what happened to them.  Usury laws were placed in the books so people that borrowed money didn’t get soaked with high interest rates.  Well our lawmakers took big contributions from the banking industry and the Usury Laws are a thing of the past. My neighbor showed me his interest rate, 29%.  The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act, they acted like they did something for you.  Once again we got the short side of the stick.  Yes, banks would have to tell you they were going to raise your rates you could either close the account or pay it off.  One, if people could pay off their cards they would, two, if they cancel the accounts they might not be able to get credit elsewhere because of their debt. You can’t move.  They got you coming and going.

If you want somebody working on your behalf, somebody like you that gets up every morning goes to work supporting a family and working to make ends meet.  I’m your guy.  I come with a guarantee on performance.  Nobody else will give that offer because they would have to step down.  In November we can save our country by voting out the partisan politicians, the one’s that vote for their big money friends, and the one’s who always seem to vote against the people wishes.  I am giving you my word and asking you for an opportunity to be your US Senator.  I don’t have a voting record; I am not a career politician either.

May 3, 2010

A lot to talk about since the last newsletter two weeks ago.  I went back to text, video takes up a lot of space and time.  Trying to remember a
script is harder than it looks!

First and foremost I am saddened by the disaster in the gulf, my thoughts and prayers go to the injured and the deceased as well as their families. Working in the same industry with hydrocarbons one always knows that no matter how safe we are and how much money is spent on safety the chance of fire is there everyday.  The industry has made great strides in eliminating that chance and events like these are few and far between. That is no comfort if you or a loved one is involved in a fire or gas leak.  The folks that ran the rig had a great safety record. Hopefully the investigation will yield a cause so they can prevent any further reoccurrences.

Now our attention is turned to the aftermath.  The weather has not been too accommodating this weekend.  I pray for a wind direction change to give the clean up crews a fighting chance to save Louisiana’s coast.

What is a good leader?  A good representative?  A good Senator?  In my mind’s eye I believe a good leader listens to the people in his state.  I am talking in the context of a Senator.  A good leader listens and drafts a way to get where the people in his state wants to go.  He has to
persuade ninety-nine other folks to see his point of in hopes of gathering the majority if not all.  He also has to take into account other Senator’s wishes and try to make them understand why this is may or may not be good for our country or Louisiana.  Anybody can push the “aye” or “nay” buttons.   Anybody can vote the way their big money supporters wish them to.  I believe this is what happens in the base, special interest and lobbyist control the votes we’re just an after thought.  This is wrong and it has to change.  If it don’t we will not survive as a free country.

Getting a foot into the established world of politics as third party candidate is a monumental job to say the least.  If you look at the two party system and where we are at as a nation one would have to say they brought us up to the top and they have dropped us down to the others.  Our educational system suffers, we are operating our government is a deficit, we are in the beginning stages of Government run Healthcare, our borders are non existent, unemployment is almost double digits, and our dollar which was once the standard of all currency is weak.  We have given these folks over one-hundred years; we are on the brink of socialism.  We have to do something different or that brick wall were moving towards we’re going to hit it.

Have a great week and may God be with you in all of your travels.
